Live Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) returns to Sarnia this weekend when “Future Combat Stars” takes place at the Station Music Hall on Campbell Street Saturday night.
The 19+ event features a series of matchups, including local 21-year-old amateur fighter Beau Roberts.
His story is a special one, according to organizers, because as a child, Roberts always dreamed of becoming a UFC fighter, but suffered from seizures and eventually required brain surgery.
Aside from working two jobs, Roberts trains four to five times a week in kickboxing with his coach Woodrow James at We Are Fitness, along with boxing and Brazilian jujitsu with his partner Josh Taylor.
