Athletes from St. Patrick’s, Northern, Great Lakes and Alexander Mackenzie all reached the podium at the SWOSSAA track and field championships last week.
Multi-discipline junior Paige Vrolyk of St. Pat’s brought her A-game to the meet at the Chatham-Kent Community Athletic Complex in Chatham, grabbing gold in triple jump (10.42m) and long jump (5.01m), and a bronze in the 200m, (25.97).
City sprinters also made their mark, snagging numerous top three finishes. The meet held May 17-18 featured 44 events.
