Community Living Sarnia-Lambton (CLSL) is currently looking for dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. With a vision to ensure that all persons live with dignity and share in community life, CLSL's mission is to enrich the lives of people with intellectual and other disabilities by providing supports and services that promote individual choice and life goal achievement.
Board Member Expectations
Board members play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of CLSL, supporting the Executive Director, and protecting the organization from undue risk. Our board is diverse, including business and financial advisors, former educators, and professionals in law, policing, healthcare, and advocacy. All share a deep commitment to the well-being of individuals with developmental and other disabilities.
Key expectations for board members include:
- A 3-year commitment
- Attendance at board meetings held at 6 pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month (9 per year)
- Active support of fundraising activities
- Participation in at least one board committee or working group
- An average monthly time commitment of 5 hours
- Strategic, open-minded, collaborative, ethical, respectful, and participatory approach
- Staying informed about CLSL programs and publicly supporting them

There are currently four open positions on the board. We are seeking volunteers who wish to make a meaningful impact in their community and who can contribute their time, skills, and knowledge.

Impact on the Community
Celebrating 75 years of service, CLSL has been a pillar of support for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families in Sarnia-Lambton. The organization provides a wide range of services, including respite, person-directed planning, employment supports, supported living, and community-based activities.
