The Sarnia Sting have signed defence man James Barr to an OHL Standard Player Agreement, the club announced this week.
The 15-year-old Oakville native was selected by the Sting in the second round of the 2023 OHL Priority Draft last month.
During his draft year, Barr recorded seven goals and 31 assists through 36 regular season games played, in addition to three goals and three assists through eight playoff games for the Burlington Eagles U16 AAA team.
“James Barr has all the tools we look for in defencemen,” said Sting general manager Dylan Seca. “He skates well, can make plays with the puck, and he competes hard.
"We welcome James and the Barr family to Sting Nation.”
