Sarnia Police Arrest Two in Sarnia Hotel Break and Enter

On June 19, 2024, a male and a female gained entry into a hotel room in the downtown area of the City of Sarnia using a lost room key card.  While in the room, they rummaged through the victims belongings locating, and stealing various items.  The following items were stolen:

  • 3rd generation air pods
  • pink beats headphones
  • Dell laptop
  • power bank
  • make up and toiletry bag
  • keys to a Kia vehicle
  • brown Coach bag with red interior
  • black Lululemon backpack

The Sarnia Police Service responded, and using the hotel security footage were able to identify the parties responsible for the break and enter.

On June 20, 2024 the Sarnia Police Service arrested two people and charged them with the following offences:

48 year old suspect

  • Break and Enter a Place - Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Fail to Comply with a Probation Order

33 year old suspect

  • Break and Enter a Place - Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On June 21, 2024 the Sarnia Police Service conducted a search warrant at a residence at 160 George Street and were successful in retrieving some of the belongings stolen from the hotel room.  The following items remain missing:

  • Dell laptop
  • pink Beats headphones
  • 3rd generation airpods
  • brown Coach bag with red interior

The 48 year old suspect has been remanded into custody and his next court date will be June 28, 2024.  The 33 year old suspect has been ordered released with a court date of July 16, 2024.
