Robbery of E-Bike - Female Arrested - Officer Injured During Arrest

On October 6th, 2024, a male party attended a convenience store in the area of Napier Street and Elgin Street, in the City of Sarnia.  The male party (victim) exited the store and began travelling on an E-Bike with items in hand.  At this time the victim was accosted by a male and female.

The male party began assaulting the victim, while the female stole the victim's E-Bike.

The coordinated robbery attracted the attention of onlookers, one of which intervened to stop the assault.  This good samaritan was stuck in the hand with a knife brandished by the male assailant.  The good samaritan received a small cut to the right of his hand.

The male and female fled the scene in possession of the E-Bike.  The female was identified by the victim as the female was known to him.  The Sarnia Police Service has not identified the male at this time.

On October 8th, at 1:00 am, an officer of the Community Response Division located the wanted female at a business at the intersection of London Road and Christina Street.  The officer attempted to arrest the female for offences related to the robbery.  At this time, the female resisted the officer and a struggle ensued.  A second officer attended to assist.  The second officer was cut by a large, black buck knife the female had in her possession.  The officer sustained a cut to his right middle finger which required medical attention.

A 33 years old of Sarnia, is charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Failure to Comply with Probation
  • Carry a Concealed Weapon
  • Resist Peace Officer

The suspect was held for a bail hearing which will occur on today's date.
