Sarnia Pacers, Bluewater Boxing team up for 'Banger in the Hangar' event

The third annual Banger in the Hangar returns this weekend at Sarnia's Chris Hadfield Airport where the stage is set for an epic battle featuring local and international fighters.

“This event has been in the works for a year,” said Lisa Headrick with the Sarnia Pacers organization, which has partnered with the Bluewater Boxing Club’s Tom Hennessey to host the two-night event happening inside the airport’s Badger Hangar.

“We have boxers from Team Ontario, Calgary, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and of course, the Bluewater Boxing team that will be competing both Friday and Saturday night.”

She added that a team from Beldoyle, Ireland will have eight of their best boxers on hand for the event.

Tickets for the all-ages event are $20 and available at the door each night. Doors open at 6 p.m and fights start at 7 p.m.

There will also be raffles and auctions in support of the Bluewater Boxing Club and The Sarnia Pacers.
