The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) has opened applications for three scholarships aimed at supporting post-secondary students in Sarnia-Lambton.
For over 40 years, SCF has contributed more than $12 million to local organizations, projects, and student scholarships. This year’s available awards include:
Blue Eyes Big Heart Josh Alderton Memorial Scholarship
Created in memory of Joshua Alderton, who died in a car accident in 2013, this scholarship supports individuals affected by domestic violence. Alderton was known for his compassion and commitment to helping others, particularly those facing adversity. The award honours his legacy by supporting women and children affected by domestic violence to pursue higher education. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 24, 2025.
Zandbergs Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is intended for students pursuing a teaching career, particularly those planning to teach in languages other than English. Applications are due by Monday, May 16, 2025.
Susan Moffat Memorial Scholarship
Supporting graduating secondary school students, this scholarship is geared toward those pursuing studies in history, education, or health sciences. Open to students who have faced a personal physical or mental health challenge and have prevailed despite that challenge. The deadline to apply is Thursday, June 13, 2025.
