This month, Sarnia’s Maddisyn Fisher (me) and Samantha Saucier will launch “Young & Excellent”, a podcast and YouTube series dedicated to celebrating young folks in Sarnia-Lambton.
With the help of producer Mike Johnson and his incredible film and television expertise, we’ve combined our passion for sharing unique stories and promoting the exciting things young people are doing in Sarnia-Lambton. Together we cultivate an open dialogue about what it means to be a young person living here.
On Young & Excellent (Y&E), we delve into the journeys of youth and young professionals in Lambton County, offering them a unique, supportive platform to share their voices.
Throughout our first season, we have an excellent group of guests on the show, sharing their dreams, the cool things they're working on, and the qualities that make them who they are. We're talking about creativity, being inclusive, making a local impact, and treating everyone fair and square.
As the Co-Founder and host of Y&E, I am delighted to be part of this initiative. Being a young professional myself, I understand the unique complexity of balancing growth, learning (and unlearning), and building a foundation that can last a lifetime. There’s no better way to do this than getting involved in our local community, so we’ve been working on filming episodes, branding, and outreach within the community to bring you different perspectives. We cover topics such as hobbies, professional journeys, high school experiences, being an artist, current challenges within the community, and so much more.
Luckily, I am not alone! Big phew on that because our Co-Founder and Community Producer of Y&E is one of the best. Samantha is highly creative, intelligent, and empathetic to the world around her. She is passionate about supporting folks within the local community and is continuously networking and forming connections to offer opportunities for young folks to be featured on the show and ensure the energy is poppin’ on set.
We are grateful to our producer and editor, Mike, for always being open to the process. His background and education allowed us to thrive. He truly is a creative genius! And now, we are ready to launch Young & Excellent.

Our first episode aired this week and continues weekly. Since I have the honour of asking all the questions, I will leave you with this:
