Athletes from Sarnia's Athletics Southwest Track and Field Club won eight medals, including three gold, at the recent Ontario Legion District “A” meet in Chatham.
Mackenzie Mullen led the way with a record toss of 42.58 metres in girls hammer throw, a full seven metres more than her nearest competitor.
Reigning OFSSA champion Marissa Mueller won the girls’ javelin gold and Johnny Vanos took top spot in the boys’ discus event.
Club rookie Michael Pugsley captured silver in both the boys 100 metre and 300 metre events, and Zion Webb won silver in the boys hammer throw and bronze medals in the discus and shot put.
