The program that helped a Sarnia student entrepreneur launch a 3D printing company making face shields for health workers is returning this summer.

The Summer Company Program provides a $1,500 grant to launch a business as well as mentoring and entrepreneurship training.

Students age 15 to 29 who complete the program are eligible for an additional $1,500.

Because of the pandemic, this year’s start-ups should not require direct interaction with customers, and applicants are encouraged to use e-payment options.

Successful tech-based businesses the program has launched include Jared Waller’s Radiant 3D printing, whose medical-grade protective face shields were featured in a recent Journal article.

The program is offered by the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership and Ontario government.
