Over the past decade, Walk a Mile has become a symbol of solidarity and commitment to the life-changing programs offered by the Women’s Interval Home. This year’s event is more than just a walk – it’s a celebration of our achievements and a tribute to the supporters, volunteers, and donors who make this work possible, recognizing the vital work being done to address ongoing challenges in our region.
When you join us, you’re supporting programs that provide essential assistance to those impacted by violence, as well as initiatives focused on Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) research, restorative justice, and supportive housing. Our ABI research project continues to reveal the profound impacts of brain injury on survivors of violence, guiding us toward better treatment, support, and advocacy.
Our restorative justice work, through the "Restore You" program, offers practices that promote healing, accountability, and understanding. Open to all genders, this program helps build healthier communities through reconciliation and respect.
Though these programs provide vital support, the needs within our community continue to grow, and we remain at full capacity, helping individuals and families facing ever-evolving challenges. Supportive housing is a cornerstone of our mission. As we expand our offerings—from support groups to ongoing research—we are reminded that breaking the cycle of violence often requires secure, stable housing for those we serve.
As we walk together on November 2nd, we’ll reflect on how far we’ve come and the important work still ahead. We invite everyone—families, friends, and community groups—to come out, show support, and make a difference. Your participation and generosity directly impact our ability to continue offering these services and expanding our reach. Together, we’re building a future where everyone is safe and supported.
Join us to inspire hope, create change, and celebrate our shared commitment to safety, justice, and empowerment. Let’s make this 10th annual Walk a Mile memorable and impactful!
