Spectators can no longer visit Sarnia’s public arenas to watch recreational sports.
City staff have modified the provincially mandated 50-person gathering limit at arenas after problems arose with spectators coming and going between ice rentals, the city said.
The number of coaches and on-ice helpers allowed has been reduced from 10 to five, and no more than 20 skaters are allowed on the ice surface per rental, the city said.
Spectators are no longer allowed.
Gates at Progressive Auto Sales Rink 2 will now open 20 minutes prior to each ice rental and locked again five minutes prior to the start time, the city said.
