The BP Snow Park is now open at Lambton College, offering a way to learn the basics of skiing and snowboarding without fear.
The 600-foot by 45-foot snow course uses the same cable system Boarder Pass has been providing wakeboarders on Sarnia Bay since 2010.
There are no real hills, but the park offers jumps, rails and a quarter pipe among other features.
If a participant falls, the cables stop automatically.
The idea, said co-owner Tim Nixon, “is to bring skiing and snowboarding to areas like Sarnia where it’s otherwise not accessible.”
An all-inclusive base package offers a 20-minute lesson and all safety gear is $30. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. For more, or to book a reservation, call 1-855-383-RIDE
