Sarnia is pondering how it might spend a one-time windfall from the federal gas tax fund.
Pending approval of Bill C-25, the city expects to receive $2.18 million from Ottawa, in addition to a previous allocation of $2.27 million.
Council recently asked staff to create a “mini-budget” of potential capital projects that qualify for funding.
So far, the only money earmarked is $100,000 for planning drawings of a proposed Bright’s Grove Library expansion.
The project would see a one-story addition, outdoor deck and accessible elevator and restrooms at Faethorne House in Wildwood Park.
The fed’s gas tax fund is intended for infrastructure investment in things such as roads, bridges, airports, recreation and sports.
