Sarnia is preparing to reconstruct one of its key industrial roads next year.
Federal and provincial funding of almost $4.2 million has been approved to fix the busy three-kilometre section of Plank Road between Indian Road and Highway 40.
Design work will be done this year with construction going ahead in two phases in 2021 and 2022, said city engineering director David Jackson.
The city will contribute about $800,000 toward the roadwork itself, and intends to install new watermains while the road is dug up.
