One more person has recovered from COVID-19, leaving just six confirmed, active cases of the virus in Sarnia-Lambton, Lambton Public Health said this morning.
No new cases were reported for a ninth straight day, and one of two local institutional outbreaks has been resolved.
Bluewater Health was declared in outbreak on June 17 after four staff members from one unit tested positive and went into self-isolation.
The unit, created to assist COVID-positive patients transferred from Vision Nursing Home, had been closed two days earlier on June 15.
The last infected staff member is now clear after 14 days in isolation, the hospital said.
Bluewater Health currently has no COVID-positive patients in acute care, and hasn’t had any for more than a week.
The only remaining outbreak, at Afton Park Place, began June 18 after one staff member there tested positive.
Eight other institutional outbreaks have been resolved.
Since March 25, Sarnia-Lambton has had 285 cases of the novel coronavirus and 25 deaths.
More than 12,000 test results have been received, including almost 1,300 results over the past week.
