Lambton Public Health said today 58.7% of adults aged 18+ in Sarnia-Lambton have now received one or more doses of COVID-19, and 5% of residents are fully vaccinated.
That includes shots given by public health, hospitals, pharmacies and doctors and other primary care providers.
Last week, vaccine registration at the Point Edward Arena was opened to individuals 12 years of age and older. Registration has also opened at all local fixed-site clinics for people 18 and older (or turning 18 in 2021).
So far, more than 2,800 youth aged 12 to 17 have booked a vaccination appointment.
If you’re eligible and would like to schedule a shot visit Lambton Public Health’s online Registration page.
Residents are advised to be patient as clinics are booking up quickly. Additional clinics will be added as vaccine supply is confirmed.
The health unit is also developing a strategy to ensure every resident receives a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and will invite residents directly to book their second dose appointments soon in the order they were administered.
Anyone with vaccine inquiries or having difficulty booking an appointment online can call the Vaccine Call Centre, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 226-254-8222.
Meanwhile, Lambton Public Health has released a survey to residents to gather information regarding COVID-19 vaccinations administered out-of-province and out-of-country.
Residents that received vaccinations outside of Ontario and maintain a full-time or seasonal residence within Lambton County are asked to complete the survey on the Vaccination Reporting page of Lambton Public Health’s website.
