The City of Sarnia parks and recreation department is inviting volunteers and clubs to participate in the 3rd annual Community Parks Clean-Up day on April 22
The event - which coincides with Earth week - is designed to mobilize individual citizens and community groups to clean up and revitalize local city parks, boulevards and other public spaces throughout Sarnia.
Volunteers that register their group and desired site will be provided with gloves, garbage bags, paint, rakes, safety information and first-aid kits.
Volunteers not on a crew can register to join the community cleanup group that will be working in Canatara Park on the same day.
The event will go from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A free barbecue for all registered volunteers will also be held at Canatara Park, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Those interested may register in person by visiting the Parks and Recreation department on the 3rd floor at City Hall, or online at www.sarniagives.com/ctw/cleanup.
