Sarnia Police are warning residents about a another scam making the rounds.
Those targeted get a call from someone claiming to be from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation with news of a $450,000 lottery win.
Victims are asked to pay a processing fee to collect their winnings, police said.
The OLG doesn’t have your phone number and it wouldn’t ask you for a fee, said Staff Sergeant Mike Van Sickle.
“Unless you specifically signed up for a contest, ignore anyone who calls you congratulating you on winning something, because you didn’t.”
And, he added, never send money, gift cards, Bitcoin, credit card info or cheques over the telephone unless it’s you calling a trusted person.
