The city has rushed to replace a mouldy ceiling at Camp Saredaca just in time for the summer camping season.
City council approved $24,000 for the work last week, which was the final piece in a six-month painting, reshingling and general cleanup of the camp on Blackwell Road.
The city’s summer day camp programs and Girl Guide groups use the facility, which features two classrooms, a kitchen, an open barn and a large Carolinian woodlot.
