A group of local youth representing the Lambton Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) had an impressive showing at the Ontario Summer Games held this past weekend in London.

The Girls’ U19 Team of Jadelina Tep-Chhun, Andrea Lai and Narisse Daye captured a silver medal with a three-day team Toal of 458, just behind the team from the Ottawa Valley Golf Association. The young women rallied from an opening Sunday one-stroke deficit to claim the silver medal by a five-stroke margin at the FireRock Golf Club in Komoka.

Lai also won the Individual U19 Girls’ silver medal with an impressive and personal best round of -1 on Sunday, nearly forcing a playoff on the final hole, missing out on gold by one stroke.

Her LJGT teammates weren’t far behind, with Tep Chhun finishing in a three-way tie for ninth place, and Daye placing 12th.

The boys' team included Logan Woodiwiss, Andrew Sudicky, Gabriel-Alexi Turno, Lucas Rogers, Ryan Ladouceur and Tayt Stonehouse.

This is an outstanding and a very much remarkable achievement considering our Tour is only in its second season,” said Michael Rocca, one of the LJGT founders. “And our team competed against nine other provincial tours with many more years of pedigree in this event.”

The SMAA-affiliated Lambton Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) began in 2023 and invites both new and experienced golfers to participate in the program, covering various ages and skill level.
