Cross country runners advance

A large number of cross country runners from Sarnia have advanced to the Ontario high school championships following a strong showings at the qualifying meet in Windsor on Oct. 29.

A large number of cross country runners from Sarnia have advanced to the Ontario high school championships following a strong showings at the qualifying meet in Windsor on Oct. 29.

They include:

Midget girls: Kaylee White of Northern Collegiate finished 7th. Teammate Madison Winegard was 8th and qualified as an alternate.

Junior Girls: Led by Caroline Forbes (5th) and Lauren Perkins (6th), Northern’s entire team qualified.

Junior Boys: Northern team qualified after finishing second overall, led by Andrew Davies (2nd) and Nick Forbes (7th).

Senior Girls: Northern’s Sarah Riser was 7th

The provincial championships will be held Nov. 7 at Highlands Nordic Centre in Duntroon, Ont., near Collingwood.
