Sarnia Flooring Contractor Charged with Fraud

Recently the Sarnia Police investigated several complaints regarding the owner of a business allegedly defrauding customers. 

Between May and June 2024, the accused, solicited business from several customers in the Lambton County area. Despite receiving deposits to secure flooring contracts, the accused failed to fulfill his obligations, allegedly using the funds for personal gain.

The accused's alleged fraudulent practices included providing false excuses for material and installation delays, ignoring customer inquiries, and ultimately failing to deliver the ordered flooring. The victims, who believed they were investing in their homes, suffered significant financial losses.

The Sarnia Police Service has charged a 33 year old of Sarnia, with the following:

  • Fraud under $5,000 (x5)
  • Theft under $5,000 (x5)
  • Fraud over $5,000 
  • Theft over $5000

The suspect was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 12, 2024.
