On November 16, 2024, shortly after 8:00 AM, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a report of a stolen 2023 Ford Tremor from a residential driveway on Tweedsmuir Ave. in Sarnia. Video surveillance showed the theft to have occurred at approximately 5:30 AM.
Through the use of technology, police were able to quickly locate the vehicle in the area of Murray Street and Cameron Street in Corunna.
While officers were in the area of the vehicle they noticed a male and female exit a residence in the 100 Block of Cameron Street. The male was wearing identical clothing to the person on the surveillance video of the stolen vehicle. Officers subsequently arrested both parties and located the keys for the stolen vehicle discarded at the base of a tree. During a search of the male incident to arrest, officers located a butterfly-style knife.
The male was identified as a 35 year old and he was charged with the following:
- Adult Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Adult Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (Seven counts)
It was also learned that the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a previous Robbery that occurred on October 25, 2024, and faces the additional charges below:
- Trespassing at Night
- Break, Enter dwelling house – commit an indictable offence
- Disguise with Intent
- Pointing a Firearm (Two counts)
- Unauthorized Poss of a Firearm
- Assault with a Weapon (Two counts)
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition
- Firearm – Use while committing offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Five counts)
- Adult Robbery using Firearm (Restricted or Prohibited)

The female was identified as a 27 year old and it was determined she had an outstanding arrest warrant for the following charges:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Two counts)
- Theft Under $5000
- Fail to attend Fingerprints
Both were held pending bail hearings.
