On Sunday November 3rd, 2024 at 1:37am, Sarnia Police were dispatched to Winchester Crescent at Wiltshire Drive in Sarnia for a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision. Officers arrived on scene to discover a white truck had collided with a parked vehicle located in a driveway of a Winchester Crescent home. The force of the collision pushed the parked vehicle through the garage of the residence.
Officers observed the truck’s driver attempting to exit his vehicle out the passenger door. He was observed to display signs of intoxication by alcohol, with beverage containers in clear view on the floor of the vehicle. He was not injured.
The driver, a 41 year old Sarnia man, was arrested and transported to the Sarnia Police station. At the station he later provided two samples of breath indicating a blood alcohol level of over twice the legal limit. He was later released from custody on a police Undertaking with charges of:
- ·Impaired Driving
- ·Over .08
- ·Dangerous Driving
The occupants of the home were not injured. However, they did need to leave their home as the structural integrity of the residence is being assessed.
