spsmediarelease2

On July 5th, 2024 at approximately 1 a.m., the Sarnia Police Service (SPS) responded to a report of a break and enter at Bluewater Power.

Upon arriving on scene, 4 male parties jumped into a cargo van and fled the area, forcing a Sarnia Police officer to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

A brief pursuit was inititiated but was quickly called off by the SPS due to high speeds and a concern for public safety.

Shortly after, the van went through a red light at the intersection of Confederation Street and Murphy Road, where it collided with another motor vehicle.  The driver of that vehicle did not sustain any physical injuries.  The van did not stop at the scene of the collision and continued onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 402.

The SPS notified the OPP and shortly after 1:30 a.m., the vehicle was located by an OPP officer in Wyoming.  The accused parties fled the van on foot and a K9 track was initiated.

All 4 accused parties were located, arrested without incident and turned over to the SPS to continue the investigation.

As a result of the investigation the following male parties have been charged with:
