At 2:30pm on Feb 1, 2025 the Sarnia Police were called to Centennial Park on Front Street in Sarnia. Park goers were feeding ducks and geese, when a dark colored truck was observed to enter the parking lot. The truck remained parked in a corner for a few minutes before revving its engine and driving directly through the flock of birds, striking four of them.
The truck then left the area eastbound on London Road. Police arrived and located two deceased ducks, one living duck and a deceased Canada goose in the parking lot along with several distressed bystanders. Animal control attended however the injured duck later succumbed to its injuries.
The suspect vehicle (depicted below) is described as:
- ·A newer dark Dodge Ram
- Burnt orange flame decal on the passenger side
- Lifted with 35 inch tires
- Full cab, long box
- Custom front grill similar to a transport
- Tan rock guard panels and bumper
