Candidate Column: The New Blue Party of Ontario and the urgency for a conservative renewal

"I ask the voters of Sarnia-Lambton to put the present election to good use by voting for me, Keith Benn, your New Blue candidate and to grant me the privilege of representing you at Queen’s Park."

The New Blue Party of Ontario represents the only truly conservative party in Ontario that has the policies, the province-wide organization and the candidates to put Ontario and Sarnia-Lambton on track to a truly revitalized economy. The New Blue Party also supports the protection of individual rights and privacy, as well as the defense of Ontario’s sovereignty from encroachments by the federal government or external organizations such as the WHO, the UN and the WEF.

New Blue proposes to spur economic growth by way of tax relief. That would involve eliminating the federal carbon tax as well as the provincial industrial carbon tax and carbon pricing system. We also support cutting the HST from 13% to 10% with a long-term objective of scrapping the HST entirely. Those cuts to existing taxation would result in significant relief for all residents of Sarnia-Lambton. Along with a lessening of the regulatory burden and of bureaucratic roadblocks to development, those changes would help spur industrial renewal and growth, and lead to an overall healthier economy. They would also improve the jobs market and enhance availability of affordable homes.

The New Blue Party’s proposed reductions of taxation and regulatory burden represent a market driven approach to a powerhouse economy. This stands in stark contrast to Doug Ford’s failed statist approach that consists of spending our taxes, along with billions in borrowed money, to finance industrial projects on behalf of large international corporations. Ford’s approach to the economy represents a road to ruin and an increased debt burden to be passed on to our children, and their children.

The New Blue Party also supports and would defend the division of powers between the federal and provincial governments as provided for in the Canadian Constitution.

Furthermore, we stand firmly against allowing The World Health Organization, the United Nations or the World Economic Forum having jurisdiction in the Province of Ontario. They must not be allowed to impose any authority over the sovereignty of our province. New Blue opposes any enforcement within Ontario of requirements, instructions, mandates, recommendations or guidance provided by any of those organizations.

New Blue recognizes and opposes major threats to individual rights and freedoms. We would support legislation to make Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) unlawful in Ontario in order to prevent the massive invasion of privacy that they represent. Furthermore, New Blue proposes that legislation should be established to stop the expropriation of farmland from its rightful owners for the purpose of industrial or urban development.

While New Blue is proposing the positive actions described above that would spur our economy and protect our rights and freedoms, Doug Ford’s thoughts are focused only on his own diminishing own political fortunes. He has called an early and unwarranted mid-winter election in hopes of renewing his majority before he follows his close allies in Ottawa, the Trudeau Liberal government in their downward political spiral.

He is leading a campaign of fear, having identified the “Bad Orange Man” as the external enemy against whom he now styles himself as our Great Protector.

In a further insult to the voters of Ontario, Mr. Ford has promised to inject a fiscal “stimulus” of twenty-two billion dollars into Ontario’s economy, should he form a government following the election. To be clear, he is proposing to buy our votes with $22B of mostly borrowed money and then send us the tax bill to pay for that loan, with interest of course. It is a clear admission that the Ford PC government’s tenure has resulted in a very weak economy in our province.

I ask the voters of Sarnia-Lambton to put the present election to good use by voting for me, Keith Benn, your New Blue candidate and to grant me the privilege of representing you at Queen’s Park. Once there, I would work with other New Blue members and any like-minded conservatives to establish a renewed Common-Sense Conservative movement. Our mission would be to push for the implementation of the New Blue platform of tax relief, the protection of our freedoms, as well as much more that cannot be included in the present column.

In closing, please, do not abstain from voting in this election. The stakes are far too high and the opportunity to forge a prosperous future for the people of Ontario is far too great to be wasted. Please, vote for Keith Benn of the New Blue Party of Ontario so that we can bring Common-Sense Conservatism back to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
