Dear Editor:

Re: Large swath of trees and brush removed in preparation for proposed Point Edward subdivision

Well, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that the Exmouth Street woodlot is no more. (I guess this could go in the obits).

One hundred years to create, two months to destroy.

Progress is a strange and subjective thing. Nameless out of town developers have a different definition than I do.

I will miss it like an old friend, and so will my swallows. I have removed their nest boxes, I don't think they want to live on a construction site.

Hopefully I can find a new home for them.
