Dear Editor: 
I fully support the Rotarians' spokesperson Mr. Kooy's motion to develop affordable housing in the near vacant parking lot on Victoria St.
Despite some reasonable objections from Coun. Burrell and a few other businesses, even our mayor Mike realizes the current situation is intolerable and plans must be put in place to resolve the Sarnia homeless situation.
Coun. Gillis is correct in that housing is a County responsibility, but as we have been taught from childhood, we are here to look after our "brother" whoever that may be.
Since the funding has already started toward future affordable housing in our city, we should encourage all plans and support those in civic and county government who want to see our city take the necessary steps forward to ease the crisis of housing now and in the future.
