Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Artje Hendrika Van Reenen (nee Plug) passed away at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Jan William Van Reenen for 66 years. Loving mother of Patricia (Pete), Peter (Carolyn) and Jan (Sharon). Cherished Oma of David (Rachel), Erika (Dino) and Marijka; Haley (Ryan), Mitchell (Cara) and Zachary (Cassidy); Simon (Holly), Ian (Justine) and Arlene (Andrew). Treasured great-Oma of 13 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Hank Plug, John Plug, and sister-in-law of Diane Plug and Nel Barneveld. Predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Jacoba Bos, and brothers William and Peter Plug. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Dr. Kim, nurse Rachel, and PSW Lorelei. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Private family interment at Blackwell Cemetery.
