Carol passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Trillium Villa in Sarnia, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, partner, and friend John and son Len. Survived and loved by her daughter Theresa, son-in-law Steve and daughter-in-law Leanne; grandchildren Robyn (Landon), Melissa (Gradey), Maddie, Maegan, Leni, and Charlie; great-grandchildren Wes, Theo, and Wilder. Born into the Barron Family to Rae and Charles, siblings Pat, Elaine (John), David (Barb), and George (Ann) and Jack. Married into the Fera Family, Maria and Leonardo, siblings-in-law Rosalie (Edo), Rita (Jim), Joe (Joyce), and Sam (Adrienne). Survived and loved by many nieces and nephews and their families. Carol was an educator, loving that role and the students she taught. In later life she was active with the Sister of St. Joseph and volunteered with St. Joseph’s Hospice. She made many good friends in these roles with special appreciation for the loyalty and devotion of her friend Barb Brennek. Carol loved time with her family the most and enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and travelling. Her journey continued at Trillium Villa where she made it her home, participating in many activities, crafts, and Resident Council. A heartfelt thank you goes to the staff at Trillium who cared for Carol and ensured that she lived to her fullest. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Project Mental Wellness through Sarnia Community Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
