A thrilling new all-ages fitness adventure is coming to Sarnia when All Out Ninja opens its doors this Saturday with a free open house. From 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the community is invited to explore the ninja gym located at 850 Confederation Street, Unit 1.
The facility is the brainchild of Tracey and Wayne Dionne, who saw an opportunity to create a space for families to get active, embrace challenges, and ignite their passion for ninja sports.
“The whole facility will be ready to go for Saturday,” said Tracey. The couple’s inspiration stems from their son Alex’s love for ninja competitions. A frequent competitor, Alex is now in his fourth season and participated in 18 Canadian Ninja League-sanctioned events last year alone.
Wayne, who left his job last November, explained their decision to pursue this venture, “Instead of working for other people, we asked ourselves, ‘What do we want to do for ourselves?’”
The Dionnes sought support from Community Futures Lambton and the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership’s Business Enterprise Centre, where they wrote their business plan and learned more about how to run their business through research. Earlier this year, they were finalists in the ‘Pitch Competition’, which, they didn't win, but helped to make their dream become a reality.
A Facility Built with Passion, Paint and Perseverance
The Dionnes took possession of the space in September and have poured their hearts—and paint—into the project. Wayne’s father, a retired painter, joined the effort, cleaning and painting the facility from top to bottom with nearly 100 gallons of paint, sponsored by Local 1590.
“We’ve had so much help along the way,” said Wayne. The family-run business has already hired eight staff members and will train coaches throughout December.
The gym is almost ready for ninjas to explore and features two ninja rigs tailored to different age groups and skill levels. One rig is for younger kids (ages 5–8), and there’s an advanced rig for competitive athletes.
Additional spaces at the site include a safe play area for toddlers aged 18 months to four years and party rooms ready for family celebrations.
Tracey and Wayne envision All Out Ninja as more than just a gym. “We’re a community where everyone can discover their inner ninja,” said Tracey. “Our mission is to bring people together, no matter their skill level, to face challenges, celebrate wins, and grow stronger.”
Classes officially begin on Monday, December 9, and the gym will offer open gym times, and birthday party bookings. Even ninja competitions will start to be hosted next year.
