Three teens suffered injuries after stabbing incidents in Sarnia Friday night, police say.

The first incident occurred around 11 p.m. when officers with the community response division were called to the 7-11 on Christina Street N., after reports of an assault in the parking lot between several youths. Police learned the suspect had fled the scene.

“Upon arrival, police officers were able to determine that a 16-year-old male had been stabbed and was requiring immediate medical attention for serious injuries to his torso and arm,” a Sarnia Police news release noted. "A 16-year-old female was also on scene who had sustained a minor injury to her hand.”

Both were taken to Bluewater Health’s emergency department for treatment.

Several minutes later, police received another call to a private residence after reports that a male had been stabbed.

“Police and EMS attended and found a 17-year-old male with serious stab wounds to his torso,” police said. “This male was connected to the original incident on Christina Street.”

He was also taken to hospital for treatment.

“Both the 16 and the 17-year-old males were subsequently transported to the London Health Sciences for serious injuries, where they remain under care.”

The 16-year-old female was treated and released from Bluewater Health.

“Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating the incident and updates will be made available as the investigation unfolds, which is still in its infancy,” the news release added. “This is an isolated incident, as the involved parties were known to each other.”
