Sounds of Summer returns June 4

Get that lawn chair ready, free live musical entertainment will once again fill the summer air at City parks as Sounds of Summer returns for the 2024 season next week.

The City has announced its 2024 Sounds of Summer lineup, continuing a 33- year tradition of offering free summer concerts at parks across the City. This year’s concert schedule offers a diverse array of local and out-of-town acts to delight a myriad of musical preferences.

“It’s exciting to be gearing up for another Sounds of Summer, not only showcasing some of the great musical talent in Sarnia and beyond, but also the City’s numerous beautiful public spaces,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Krissy Glavin.

The annual concert series kicks off on Tuesday June 4 with Scottish Night at the Suncor Agora. Opening week continues with RELIC on June 5 at Kenwick Park; the Cabin Fever on June 6 at Paul Blundy Park; and Borderline on June 6 at Germain Park.

With the series running until Aug. 22, more than 50 shows are on the docket for 2024, representing genres ranging from blues to pop to classical to rock.

June venues include the Cantara Park Bandshell on Mondays; the Suncor Agora at Centennial Park on Tuesdays; Kenwick Park on Wednesdays; Paul Blundy Park on Thursdays and Germain Park on Thursdays.

Venues shift in July and August, with Mondays at the Canatara Park Bandshell; Tuesdays at the Canatara Park Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion; Wednesdays at Kenwick Park and Thursdays at both Paul Blundy Park and Germain Park.

 

All concerts begin at 7 p.m.
