The Sexual Assault Survivors’ Centre Sarnia-Lambton will host a grand opening at its new downtown location this Friday, along with the unveiling of a major re-branding, its executive director says.

“This rebrand is a reflection of our promise to the community,” said Chantel Butterfield. “We’re not just changing our look; we’re reaffirming our commitment to being a supportive, empathetic, and inclusive resource for all survivors.

“We believe in the power of community and are here to listen, validate, and uplift those who need us most.”

The organization is dedicated to supporting and empowering all people who have experienced or been affected by sexual harm, trauma or exploitation through education, prevention, partnerships, and healing for a better future, said Butterfield, adding that the team is excited to announce a major re-branding initiative and celebrate the grand opening of its new location at 145 Christina St. North, during this the September 6 First Friday walkabout, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“This milestone marks a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to building a community free from sexual harm and gender-based violence,” said Butterfield.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new facilities, meet the team, learn more about our programs and services, enjoy light refreshments and entertainment, and participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event is open to the public.
