Residents can expect an increased police presence throughout Sarnia as the search for 75-year-old Anthony ‘Tony’ Robertson continues.
The search now involves members of the Sarnia Police Service, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Lambton OPP ERT, London Search and Rescue, Huron Search and Rescue, K9, Sarnia Fire, and Point Edward Fire departments. Drone coverage is also being used to help in the search.
All residents are being urged to thoroughly check their properties and surrounding areas, as well as their neighbours’ if they’re away or unable.
“This request is not limited to any specific area of the City,” police said in a news release.
"If you have a home or business camera system, you are also asked to check for any possible captures you may have made of Robertson passing by."Robertson went missing from his south end home on Dec. 29, and was last seen wearing a blue plaid “lumber style” jacket with black jeans and black shoes. He is 5’8” to 5’9” in height, with grey hair, a grey beard, and brown eyes.
He is considered a vulnerable person, and will likely respond to being addressed as “Tony”.

Police had also asked for the public's help in locating Lucas Hannaford, 18, who was located safely, Monday. Three other Sarnia men reported missing in recent months have not been located. Dustin Ireson, 33, was reported missing Nov. 28; his family had not heard from him since Nov. 13. Police say his vehicle was located Nov. 30 in the area of Harbour Road in Sarnia. Trevor Morley, 40, was reported missing on Nov. 23 and was last seen along Sarnia’s waterfront in the early morning hours of Nov. 22. Last month, members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit joined Sarnia Police in their search for the men along the St. Clair River. Police are also still investigating the disappearance of 34-year-old Trevor Shawn Chaput. The service’s Criminal Investigations Division has been investigating Chaput’s disappearance since July 6 2022, when family members reported him missing. Police are treating his disappearance as suspicious. Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers has doubled the maximum reward to $4,000 for information leading to an arrest or Chaput’s location. He is described as approximately 5’6” and approximately 160 pounds (thin build)In a December news release, police said they have no reason to believe the cases are linked in any way.
