Police say the death of a Sarnia man whose body was recovered from the St. Clair River last week is not suspicious.

Trevor Morley-Wood was reported missing last fall, and had last been seen along Sarnia’s waterfront, in the early morning hours of Nov. 22.

Last week, his body was recovered in the water between Mooretown and Courtright and was identified through coordinated efforts between the Lambton OPP and Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Division.

“This death is not suspicious and our portion of the investigation (missing person) is closed,” Det. Inspector Leo Murphy confirmed to The Journal.

Lambton OPP confirmed their investigation is also complete.

Sarnia Police continue to investigate the active missing persons cases involving two other men, Trevor Shawn Chaput (34) and Dustin Alexander Ireson (34)

Ireson was reported missing Nov. 28, 2022; his family had not heard from him since Nov. 13. Police say his vehicle, a black Dodge Ram pickup, was located Nov. 30 in the area of Harbour Road in Sarnia. He’s described as 5’7” with long brown hair, and missing a tooth on the right side of his mouth.

The service’s Criminal Investigations Division has been investigating Chaput’s disappearance since July 6 2022, when family members reported him missing. Police are treating his disappearance as suspicious.

Anyone with information should contact Sarnia Police at (519) 344-8861 Ext. 0, Ext. 5300 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
