Sarnia man hospitalized following stabbing; three arrested

A 38-year-old Sarnia man remains in London hospital after being stabbed and shot with a pellet gun following a confrontation in the city's south end this week, police say.

Sarnia Police say the incident occurred in the early hours, Tuesday June 20, when the male victim was walking alone in the 200 block of Shepherd Street, and was confronted by the three accused.

“A physical interaction occurred during which time the victim sustained a stab wound to the back, and was shot multiple times, with what is a pellet handgun,” Sarnia Police said. “He was later transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He remains at London Health Sciences where he is listed in stable condition.

“Police attended and arrested all three accused without further incident and recovered the involved weapons.”

As a result of the investigation, the following charges were laid:

A 23-year-old Sarnia resident is charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

A 20-year-old Sarnia resident is charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Disobey Court Order

A young person, who name cannot be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Disguise with Intent

All three accused were held for a bail hearing.
