The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced third-quarter (October 1–December 31) payments to the City of Sarnia and the Village of Point Edward for hosting their respective gaming facilities. These funds are based on a formula applied consistently across all gaming sites in Ontario.
The City of Sarnia received $91,746 for hosting Gateway Casinos Sarnia. So far this fiscal year (April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025), Sarnia has received a total of $300,583. Since the gaming site opened in May 1999, the city has accumulated $27,963,500 in non-tax gaming revenue.
The Village of Point Edward received $429,150 for hosting Starlight Casino Point Edward during the same period. To date, Point Edward has received $1,319,356 in the current fiscal year and a total of $53,511,410 since the casino opened in April 2000.
According to Bob Bailey, Member of Provincial Parliament for Sarnia-Lambton, the payments help support local infrastructure projects and community programs.
These quarterly payments are part of OLG’s ongoing commitment to sharing revenue from gaming sites with host municipalities.
