Sarnia Sting forward Jacob Perreault was named the Ontario Hockey League’s rookie of the month in December.
The 16-year-old son of former NHLer Yanic Perreault had nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 10 games last month.
Perreault leads the league in rookie scoring with 35 points over 33 games.
He stood third in team scoring last week, behind only Hugo Leufvenius and Ryan McGregor, and was tied for the team best plus-minus rating of +10.
The right-winger was the Sting’s first-round pick and 19th overall in the 2018 OHL draft.
