Pathways Health Centre for Children and Ironworks Health and Wellness Centre are set to host the 24th annual Give the Kids a Lift charity bench press contest on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event raises funds to support children and youth in Sarnia-Lambton with physical, developmental, and communication needs.
Over the past 23 years, the fundraiser has generated over $285,000 for Pathways. This year, organizers hope to surpass $300,000, marking a milestone as Pathways celebrates 50 years of service in the community.
"Anyone who has entered this contest realizes that it is much more than a bench press contest," said Cam Davies, event co-coordinator. "It's about the members of Ironworks Gym who come together each year to bring out the best in each other and raise funds to support kids in Sarnia-Lambton."
The event, which is supported by sponsors Team Outfitters, Dr. Chris Greensmith, and Motion, is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on the lifters as they push their limits for a cause.
