Held at the Coldwell Banker courtyard at 169 Christina Street North, the celebration will feature festive music, seasonal treats, and a special preview of the project’s unique nutcrackers. Guests are invited to join the celebrations and experience the artistic creations firsthand.
This community initiative, backed by My Main Street, FedDev Ontario, and the Canadian Urban Institute, highlights not only artistic talent but also Sarnia’s ongoing downtown revitalization efforts. The project aims to increase foot traffic in the downtown area this holiday season, fostering economic growth, community pride, and a safer, more vibrant environment for all visitors. A lively downtown attracts businesses, boosts tourism, and helps drive local economic development—key factors in improving the quality of life in Sarnia.
Attendees will be treated to a performance of The Nutcracker by the Great Lakes Dance Academy and an unveiling of six uniquely crafted 5-foot-tall nutcrackers, each designed by a local artist. From November 16 through December 27, the nutcrackers will be positioned outside businesses along Christina Street. Visitors are encouraged to explore the displays, engage with the artwork, and vote for their favourite.
The Festive Nutcracker Project promises to bring a vibrant holiday atmosphere to the city, offering downtown businesses the benefit of increased foot traffic. With its creative energy and community focus, this project is set to become a highlight of Sarnia’s holiday season
Mark your calendars for November 16, and prepare to rediscover the festive spirit of downtown Sarnia!
