Gary Vander Vies chairs the Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed) Competition and Rules Committee, chairs the Boccia Canada Council, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the association.

He has held various referee and coaching positions in the sport since being introduced to it with his son Josh over 20 years ago through Pathways Health Centre for Children and Youth.

“Gary is a driving force behind the sport of boccia in Canada and we have been so very fortunate to have a volunteer of his calibre leading this sport,” said Sharon Martin, President of the CCPSA.
