Lambton County Archives is launching Heritage Hunters, a documentary-style video series that will follow community members as they work with archivists to uncover their family stories. The series aims to highlight the personal connections within Lambton County’s history, exploring the region’s past through historical records and personal discoveries.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for those curious about their family’s past,” said Nicole Aszalos, Archivist/Supervisor with Lambton County Archives. “Genealogical research can lead to exciting discoveries. Heritage Hunters will give the public a chance to follow along with this process and show how archival records preserve personal histories by uncovering the story of a local Lambton family in real time.”
The archives is accepting applications from February 17 to March 28, with selected participants notified in mid-April. Filming and research will take place between May and July, documenting the process of tracing family roots with support from archival staff. The series is set to premiere in December 2025.
Participants must have a connection to Lambton County and be available for multiple filming and research sessions. No prior genealogical experience is required, and all research services will be provided free of charge.
