Students will soon be able to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree without ever leaving Sarnia.
Community colleges currently must offer nursing degree programs in partnership with a university.
But Ontario said last week it was dropping the rule, and Lambton College jumped quickly at the chance to offer a stand-alone nursing degree at the Sarnia campus.
“This is outstanding news for Lambton College students and health-care professionals in our community,” said college president Judith Morris.
“It will make nursing more attractive for students who wish to study and pursue their careers in our community, rather than relocating for a portion of the program.”
