Here’s a list of some holiday closures and reduced hours across Sarnia-Lambton:
CITY OF SARNIA
City Hall, The Strangway Centre and Sarnia Transit Offices will be closed until Jan. 2, 2024.
Residents are asked to reach out only in instances of immediate concern such as watermain breaks, animals at large, and dangerous downed trees. Please call 519-332-0330 and follow the prompts.
Report municipal emergencies after-hours, on evenings and weekends by calling 226-472-1150 or 519-332-0330 and pressing ‘1’ to speak to the City’s third-party service provider.
For questions regarding waste collection, call Marcotte at 519-339-9988 for garbage, and Emterra at 519-312-8579 for recycling.
Buses will not be in service on the following days: Dec. 25, 26, 2023; Jan. 1, 2024
Sarnia Transit will operate a special service on the evening of New Year’s Eve with special routes in service, running every 40 minutes starting at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, until 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 1. Bus service on New Year’s Eve will pause from midnight to 12:30 a.m.
LAMBTON COUNTY LIBRARIES
All 25 Lambton County Library locations and book return bins will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024.
Due dates on library items will be extended until Friday, January 2, 2024. Library patrons are urged to plan their visits to drop off returns in advance and not return items during this time of closure. For a full list of hours and locations please visit lclibrary.ca.

movies, music and more are available 24/7 and can be accessed through lclibrary.ca.
LAMBTON PUBLIC HEALTH
Lambton Public Health (LPH), its sub-offices, and services will be closed to the public on Dec. 22, 25, 26, 29, 2023; and Jan. 1, 2024
Additional program and service changes during open office hours include:
Water sample drop off, which will be available at the Point Edward main office from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on: Dec. 21, 27, 28.
The "Ask a Public Health Nurse Drop-in Session" will be canceled Dec. 27, 2023. Regular drop-in will resume the first week of January 2024.
The LPH vaccine call centre will be closed Dec. 27-28 and will re-open Jan. 2, 2024.
COVID-19 and flu vaccines are available at local pharmacies. Access the list of participating pharmacies at: www.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
STI testing clinical services will be closed Dec. 27-28 due to limited courier services to access a lab.
The Seasonal Infectious Diseases Bulletin will be updated Dec.27 and Jan. 2.
Regular hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for all other services and programs will be observed December 27-28 and will resume following the holidays on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

LKDSB
All LKDSB schools and Board locations will be closed for the holiday break. Chatham Regional Education Centre will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd. Sarnia Education Centre will remain closed until January 8th. Classes will resume on Monday, January 8th, 2024.
