A heat warning has been issued for Sarnia-Lambton as hot and humid temperatures are expected, Monday.

“Maximum temperatures are expected to be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to be between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius,” Environment Canada said in a weather alert. “Humidex values will be in the high thirties to low forties.”

Cooler temperatures are expected Tuesday night.

Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.

The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues.

Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.

Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.
