Gallery in the Grove will launch a unique art-adoption fundraiser called ‘Off Your Wall,’ beginning Saturday.

Collectors of art and artists across Sarnia-Lambton have submitted work that they no longer have space for on their walls. These are previously loved pieces that need a new home.

More than 90 pieces of original signed art and limited edition signed prints will be for sale with prices ranging from $50 to $500.

The Gallery receives a 40% commission.

“We hope people will come out and fall in love with a piece of art,” said Kirsten Kilner Holmes, one of the fundraiser organizers. “There are some fantastic pieces including some gorgeous vintage frames.”

The sale will continue for two weeks, staffed by gallery volunteers.

All money raised from the sale will support the Gallery’s education initiatives including the Visiting Artists in Lambton Schools (VALS) program and high school scholarships.

Gallery in the Grove has been offering the VALS program to Grade Six Sarnia Lambton elementary classrooms for over twenty years — providing six hours of art instruction by three different professional artists.

The program is designed to meet the requirements of the Ontario Curriculum.

In 2023, more than 750 students participated in the VALS program.

Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 2pm–5pm, Friday & Saturday 11am–2pm. Closed Sundays.
